Michelle is a multiple finals qualifier in both the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Canadian Cowboys Association in Barrel Racing. Most recently the 2011 Manitoba Finals Rodeo Champion Barrel Racer. She has been a coach to several high school competitors in both barrels and poles, most recently the 2011 MHSRA Year End Champion Barrel Racer.
Basing her training program a solid foundation, Michelle takes pride in riding broke horses that work barrels in a smooth, correct and confident manner. She believes a solid foundation is the key to a successful barrel horse. Part of this foundation are several key maneuvers Michelle feels a barrel horse should be capable of. In order to practice and perfect these maneuvers, she implements many drills and exercises into her daily training program. Many exercises will be used in the clinic and later applied to pattern work where we discuss the connection.

    1. Horse 3 (all-day)
      Apr 13 – Apr 15

The Keystone Centre and Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba will be hosting the 5th Annual H3 equine educational weekend on April 13-15, 2012 at the Westoba Agricultral Centre of Excellence.

Our goal with this event is to help the horse community gain knowledge that will help you communicate with your horse.  A multitude of disciplines will be featured where the public can attend clinics, see demonstations and purchase products at the Trade Show for all aspects of the horse world.

The NAERIC Trainer’s Challenge is a great opportunity for all horse lovers to come together and learn from each other.  Three clinicians take a young horse out of a supplied select herd and indivdually call upon their knowlege, skills and ability  to see how much of an understaning they can develop between horse and human.  This challenge provides a unique connection between horse and human, which is something you won’t want to miss.

This years NAERIC Trainer’s Challenge Competitors are Kade Mills www.kademillshorsemanship.jimdo.com, Jason Patrick www.whisperingwillowsranch.com and Mel Hyland.

At the judges table to take on the difficult task of judging the three spectacular horsemen and decide who will win the 2012 NAERIC Trainer’s Challenge will be Heather Davey, Taylor Douglas www.douglasperformancehorses.com, and Don Halladay www.donhalladay.com

Breeds of the World at H3 will provide the discerning horse owner and the gerneral public the unique opportunity to explore and enjoy your horse and breed.

Please joing us on Saturday for ”Evening of the Horse”. after the showcase, there will be a meet and greet for attendees, trainers, and clinicans in a more intimate setting, for discussion and socializing.

Other clinicians and clinics that will be will be featured this year will be Kelly Campbell – English, Michelle Davey, Barrel Racing, Taylor Douglas – cowhorse clinic, Neil McLeod and Sharra Sage – Horsemanship, Don Halladay – demo, and Stuart Lamber – Farrier.

We strive to provide a powerful learning experience at the H3.  No matter if you’re a weekend horse lover or competitive rider, there is something for everyone.
