MRCA Point System

Points are awarded for each placing at every MRCA approved rodeo. The amount of money added to the purse determines the number of placings at each rodeo, which could be four, six or eight placings. This, in turn, determines how many points the contestant will receive.

If a rodeo pays out four placings, the points will be awarded as follows:
1st - 40 points
2nd - 30 points
3rd - 20 points
4th - 10 points

A rodeo paying out six placings would award points as follows:
1st - 60 points
2nd - 50 points
3rd - 40 points
4th - 30 points
5th - 20 points
6th - 10 points

In the case of a tie, the points of the places that are tied are added up and divided equally.
For example: Tow people are tied for foruth and fifth in a six placing rodeo. Their points are added together and divided equally. 30 + 20 = 50 divided by 2 = 25 points each.

FINALS POINTS DOUBLE!
The seven major events payout four placings, but points are doubled and awarded as follows:
1st - 80 points
2nd - 60 points
3rd - 40 points
4th - 20 points

Junior events pay out four placings and award points to the top three places:
1st - 80 points
2nd - 60 points
3rd - 40 points
